Date: December,1999
Volume: 1, Issue 6

WORDS FROM THE WEBMASTER:

Welcome to the December issue of the THSESWS newsletter, the christmas is now only a few days away and no doubt everyone is looking forward for a happy christmas and a nice break from work. We can only dream that one day, our saviour will come and take us all under his wings of love and save us all from the stress and pressure of this system of things. The world is getting worse and worse, there are so many problems people are facing each day and we are just fortunate that we are still here to enjoy life but surely the life that God has prepared for us is far more pleasant than this wicked world.

The THSESWS is happy to announce that the examination result for entrance to Tonga High School has been released and the list has been published on the section "Exam Results" on the front page of our web site. I must also take this opportunity to thank 'Ana Faiva'ilo for supplying the list. Congratulations to all the new students of Tonga High School for the new millennium. All the best to you all and expect nothing short of excellent in your search for knowledge and skills. Finally, the THSESWS must congratulate Catherine Chang for being the '99 dux of Tonga High School. Excellent work Catherine!

CHRISTMAS PRAYER & GREETINGS:

Tapu mo e ha'ofanga ka e 'ata ke fai atu ha ki'i tokoni fakalaumalie ke tau 'inasi kotoa ai.

As an Information Technology (I.T) person, I have no idea on how to address this audience spiritually. However, I must attempt to provide some spiritual food for all of us in our journey towards Christmas and the new Millennium. I was hoping that our faifekau friends may provide us with the spiritual part of things but since there hasn't been any, I have decided it is time to stand up and do one myself. To me, there is no better prayer than the powerful and intriguing words of Psalm 23. Indeed, I will supply you with Psalm 23 and also the Information Technology version of Psalm 23. So, here is the original Psalm 23:

Jehovah is my shepherd I shall lack nothing.
In grassy pastures he makes me lie down; By well-watered resting places he conducts me.
My soul he refreshes. He leads me in the tracks of righteousnes for his name's sake.
Even though I walk in the valley of deep shadow, I fear nothing bad, For you are with me; Your rod and your staff are the things that comfort me.
You arrange before me a table in front of those showing hostility to me. With oil you have greased my head; My cup is well filled.
Surely goodness and loving-kindness themselves will pursue me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of Jehovah to the length of days.

And here is Psalm 23 using the Information Technology terminology.

"The Lord is my Programmer - I shall not crash.
He installed His software on the hard disk on my heart.
All of His commands are user friendly.
His directory guides me to the right choices for His Name's sake.
Even though I scroll through the problems of life, I will fear no bugs, for You are my backup.
Your password protects me; You prepare a menu before me in the presence of many viruses; Your help is only a keystroke away.
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life.
And my file will be merged with His and saved forever."

'Emeni!

Kaunga ako, ko e ngaahi veesi ia ko 'eni 'oku fiema'u e ta'u kakato (taimi lahi) ia ke tau hanga 'o fakaikiiki.
