Tonga High Ex-students Web Site Newsletter
Tonga High School Ex-Students Web Site Newsletter
Date: December 31, 2002
Volume: 4, Issue: 12

WORDS FROM THE WEBMASTER & OUR NEWSLETTER EDITOR:

2002 - THE YEAR THAT WAS!

Welcome to the THSESWS monthly newsletter for the month of December 2002. This year has been an interesting year for all Tonga High School Ex-students; the birthday celebration in Auckland, New Zealand was the highlight of the year. The confirmation that San Francisco will host the celebration for 2003 is also a landmark for those ex-students in the USA. There were also other celebrations taking place at different places around the globe from Tonga to the USA and down to the "Land Down Under - Australia". In All, every chapter must testify that we have become closer and closer due to the use of the internet. In fact, the THSESWS has continued to play its role in bringing us together each day. Therefore, it is fitting enough for the THSESWS to take this opportunity to thank each one of you for your contribution in making our site a gathering and an enjoyable place for us all. Thank you so much!

There had been so many achievements by our ex-students and current students in just about every field. It is not possible for the THSESWS to give you a list of all the achievements associated with Tonga High School for there are too many of them. However, it is important that we as a community must continue to acknowledge and encourage our fellow ex-students and current students to keep on striving for the best and thereby reinforces the motto of our school - "Ki He Lelei Taha".

It was during the year that 'Evaloni Puniani came to our attention, this young lady is not only an intelligent one but a servant of God. Her articles on spiritual thoughts have inspired most of us. It was then decided that 'Evaloni's spiritual knowledge and ideas may benefit all Tonga High School communities around the globe. The THSESWS saw this opportunity and grapped it with both hands. 'Evaloni was formally asked to be "in-charge" of our Spiritual Section on our forum and writes articles to appear on the THSESWS for everyone to access. This was perhaps one of the most important "catch" of the year. Since then, 'Evaloni has continued to take care of our spiritual needs right from day 1. Thank you 'Evaloni!

Finally, the THSESWS is very proud to be associated with the development of the "Graduating class of '87 website". The idea first emerged at the start of the year by informal conversations among the members of this class. In September, the idea became a reality when certain members decided that a website for this class has to be created. Among other things, work regarding this website was underway. It was just before Christmas day that the final product was ready to be implemented and on the Christmas day in USA, the site was launched. This class has pioneered something that other classes must follow. Lead by a strong and enthusiastic team (see below), the site was online as stipulated by the Page Master and his assistants. Well done guys, we all hope that others will follow your footsteps.

Surely, there have been so many other incidents regarding Tonga High School that have slipped our attention but we can only report what has been available to us. So, 2002 has come and just about gone and we look forward for a fruitful year next year in terms of communication, team work, initiatives, motivational ideas and peace and harmony among us all. Thank you!

Faka'apa'apa atu
